Everything Will Get Done. Check.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Wendy Wahman @ 5:57 pm

The sign on my left-brain wall reads, Everything Will Get Done. This isn’t true, of course. But Everything Important Will Get Done, or, Everything Gets Done just don’t convince me. I need to be tricked into relief. Isn’t that what mantras are for? Woo us into taking another step forward, stubbed toes and all.

Today I thought and read and sketched. I took one of the poodles to the vet. I walked around the neighborhood with another poodle, then took all three to my favorite next door neighbors. I ate cake. I drank 4 cups of tea. I got nothing Done and Everything is pretty much where it was yesterday – unless I add process* to my check list – something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. So, I’ll do that right now. Process: Done.

The sun is going down, the room is getting darker and the page brighter. I’d call this Progress,** also known as the inseparable twin to Process.

*A process  is a series of progressive and interdependent steps by which an end is attained.

** Develop in a positive way; “He progressed well in school”; “My plants are coming along”; “Plans are shaping. Advancement: gradual improvement or growth or development; “advancement of knowledge.”

  1. Well, your innards are healing. That takes ALOT of energy and calories too, so thank god for cake.
