5th Annual Walk for Sickle Cell

Filed under: Events, Upcoming Events — Tags: , , — Wendy Wahman @ 9:03 pm

I’ll be hanging with the face painters, painting smiles for smiles and maybe a few laughs too. And trying to remember: Don’t Lick the Brushes (!)

If you can walk, please walk. If you picnic – picnic at Seward Park. I’ll be donating a signed copy of, “Don’t Lick the Dog” for one of the prizes. Lots of great prizes, wonderful people and amazing kids.

Proceeds go to support the Advocacy Awareness Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.  Spread your wings and spread the words, hummingbirds.

Library, library, what do you see?

Filed under: Events, Upcoming Events — Wendy Wahman @ 6:33 pm

Rooooaring good time to come with Nancy Pearl (be still my heart. I am such a FAN!) and Richard Russo and a whole noisy library full of writers and people who love to read. And read and read.

Green and swirly

Filed under: Upcoming Events — Wendy Wahman @ 4:49 pm

First, thank you for all the comments about which to frame. I didn’t think anyone read this except my mom.

I’m going with door number one. The first green spread. And I guess I’ll donate it to the auction after. And right back atchoo, Matthew. Thank you and congratulations. You are so gracious to mention the other Macmillan winners on your blog. I didn’t go farther than reading the letter from the creative director, printing it out. Rereading. Showing it to Joe to make sure there wasn’t a mistake – like, this is to the Other Wendy – then posting to Facebook and of course, Mom.

Central Coast Book and Author Festival

Filed under: Events, Upcoming Events — Tags: , , — Wendy Wahman @ 2:43 pm

I’ll be with A Novel Experience table, along with other authors, Oct. 4th for the Central Coast Book and Author Festival.  A Novel Experience is an independent bookstore and SLO landmark, and everyone I’ve spoken to loves this store and the people in it.

My dad and stepmother live in SLO. This photo is from a few years back of me and my dad, about to hike up Bishop’s Peak with the rest of our pack. Notice our simultaneous gesture. Perhaps an inherited nerd reaction to posing near signage.
